"Origins of Semitic Langauges in the African Context:"

AboutGirma A. Demeke is a linguist working mostly on the Semitic languages of the Horn of Africa. Author of Origins of Amharic (2009) and several other books and essays, Demeke is currently a research fellow at the Institute of Semitic Studies at Princeton. He was the General Editor of Lissan: Journal of African Languages and Linguistics between 2004 and 2008. He has been the Editor of the Journal of Afroasiatic Languages since 2011 and the monograph series on Afroasiatic Studies since 2012.
